School Information

Early Childhood education begins with Just the Two of Us for toddlers from 18 to 30 months.  A five-day Nursery Program for three-year olds is available either morning or full day with an option for before and after school care.  We also offer free PreK for All for four-year olds and children of all faiths are welcome.  Students who continue will attend Kindergarten through 8th grade. Tuition is reasonable and financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
Arts Enrichment
Immaculate Conception provides students with a solid foundation in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Religion and with special subjects including Art, Music, Spanish, Technology, and Physical Education. For 2019-2020 we are expanding enrichment programs both during and after school with an emphasis on the Arts.  There are several opportunities to explore the wonderful world of music.  Besides the Paul Effman Band & Violin Program for students in grades three through eight, we’ll be introducing ukulele lessons for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade.  Also available after school are piano, voice, and guitar lessons, as well as a Creative Writing Program for 7th and 8th graders.
If you and your children prefer theater arts, there will be opportunities to learn and develop their dramatic skills.  Students from Kindergarten through fourth grade will perform a version of the Wizard of Oz.  Middle school students will research and study the turbulent years of 60’s and create a play tentatively named The Turning Point.  Students in grades four, six, and eight will again participate in the Stages on the Sound Performing Arts Program when they are introduced to animation, play writing, and Shakespeare.
Student created art projects-drawings, paintings, photographs, sculpture-are displayed twice during the academic year.  During Catholic Schools Week student work is celebrated at our Art for Charity event and in the Spring, families can visit the Academy’s Art Exhibit and participate in art and craft projects at our Annual Art Festival.
If you’re interested in athletics for your children, our Academy offers basketball, volleyball, track, and swimming lessons, which are available at the Variety Boys and Girls Club located nearby.
We’re excited about a Debate Program we’ll be initiating this year in partnership with the American Debate League, as well as our STEM Lab, which launched last year  It is clear that Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy in Astoria has something to offer everyone.
5th Anniversary
On December 8th the Academy that began as Immaculate Conception School in 1924 will celebrate its 95th Anniversary at Terrace on the Park in Flushing.  On this occasion four distinguished graduates will be honored with the Spirit of the Blessed Mother Leadership Award.  This event is an opportunity for alumni to celebrate the past and for current families, friends, and neighbors to secure the future so that the tradition of learning, leading, and living in faith will continue for generations.
